Explore the North Cape and the fjords by helicopter

One of the best ways to see the island of Magerøya along the Barents Sea is to take a helicopter tour around this beautiful island in northern Norway. Multiple fishing villages, fjords, rugged coasts and the amazing Barents Sea are all visible from the fantastic vantage point you'll have in a chopper. During the course of the flight, you will learn about the Viking age, the tragical fate of men and women under the period of witch burnings, and the role the island of Magerøya played in World War II.

Choosing this helicopter tour will offer you multiple opportunities to take awesome photographs to capture your adventure forever. If you want to see Norway's infamous midnight sun or the Artic at their most majestic, join us for an unique, airborne perspective.

The route:

Upon your arrival at the Honningsvåg airport, we will lift off and fly over Opnan. Opnan is a historic location as an old skipper seat on Magerøya and was famous for fish trade in the 1500s. You will also have the opportunity to view the aquatic life flying over Kamøyvær before the pilot takes you over the North Cape plateau and the famous Globe. Although the plateau has been called the northernmost point in all of Europe, that distinction actually belongs the Knivskjelodden, located approximately 1,450 meters north of the plateau. You will have the privilege of flying over Knivskjelodden after you've viewed the Globe and the plateau.

We will also take you over beautiful Tunes and across Tufjord where you can overlook the famous Gjesværstappane, a natural pearl in the middle of the ocean and rich with bird life. At this point, you'll have the opportunity to explore Honningsvåg city and Kjelvik and learn more about the witch burnings of the 1600s. The trip will end with a viewing of one of the most famous lighthouses in the area before we return to the airport.

At times, we will re-route or re-schedule our flights. Helicopter sightseeing is subject to the weather and other environmental conditions. However, re-routing a flight does not mean that you miss out on an exciting experience. Quite the contrary, you will have the opportunity to view parts of the island that are rarely seen by tourists due to lack of roads. Even if we are required to re-route your flight, you can rest assured that you will still have the experience of a lifetime with beautiful fjords and breathtaking scenery.
